Commercials B/W Kids' Shows

With a young man in the house, who likes to watch kids' shows on TV, and who pays attention to every single detail, I'm always updated on commercials. Every day he tells me what he seen on the commercials between the kids' shows. The other day it was OxyClean, today it was a toothpaste vacuum force holder... It makes me wonder why commercial for adults are shown on the kids' channels? It makes more sense that commercials on kids' channels would be Lego, The Princess & The Frog Movie and McDonalds.
