Waking up early, making coffee and preparing some what of a breakfast. The lights flash once, and I'm thinking oh, no, there will be a power outage. After a couple of seconds the power is out. Waiting, waiting.. will it be for a couple of minutes, or for a while? My friend calls, asking me if I'm okay? What's going on? Oh, I plane crashed close to where we live. 3 people dead and several power lines are down.
Morning turns to afternoon, which turns to evening. Still no power. The whole area is without power. Including a big hospital. Going to the neighbor town to have dinner. We're crossing our fingers that the power is back on when we get home. A good sign is a traffic light, which suddenly starts to work at an intersection on our way to the restaurant.
Having dinner, getting gas, returning some DVDs at the library (where the slot is filled with books and DVDs), heading towards home. Yes, it looks like our part of town has the power back on. Yes, yes, yes!! Power is back on after 11.5hrs. Heading to the neighborhood store to pick up some groceries. No cheese, no yogurt, no milk. The employees are cleaning shelf after shelf of food they had to throw. We get some fresh fruits.
Back home just in time to watch Shaun White compete at the halfpipe in Vancouver. Sweet.

ReplyDeleteNi hade strömproblem. Då detta händer ser vi hur mycket vi är beroende av el.Tur för er i alla fall ni har ju värmen så ni slipper frysa under tiden.
Här i närområdet har strömmen hållit bra hela vintern. Vi har så mycket snö att om det kommer blåst och regn kan det bli kaos och ledningar blåser ned i skogen.Men idag lugnt -20 grader och solen stiger upp,fint! Inga-Britt
De ar sa sant. Forsokte forklara for Ph att vi kan varken oppna kylskapdorren, koka mat, se pa tv, vara uppe pa natet osv. Anda kunde han plotsligt saga: kan jag se pa en dvd? Da fick jag paminna honom igen. Eftersom var varme varms med gas, sa hade vi bade varmt inne och varmt vatten. Tur for oss. ;-)
